Saturday 27th of June this year was a day reserved for the winning combination of Polo and Art! On this date The Halcyon Gallery hosted their annual Royal Polo Day, at Manor Farm, Cowdray Park, and Raccoon’s Event Photographer Sam was on hand to capture the wonderful, high octane day from start to finish! (Be sure to check out some of Sam’s photography in the gallery above.)
Hosted at the recognised home of British Polo, the Halcyon Gallery invited 350 VIP guests to watch some high profile polo players including His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge, battle it out to win the coveted Chihuly Trophy. As well as a dynamic game of Polo, guests also got to enjoy a carefully curated selection of modern masterpieces and contemporary art from Halcyon Gallery and a gourmet lunch provided by Michelin Starred Harry’s Bar. It was a day certainly worth remembering and Raccoon London were able to capture some great photographs.
The sunny summer’s day was bright, starting out with a bit of cloud which was great for capturing some atmospheric shots of the exhilarating Polo game. The end result saw The Duke of Cambridge in support of his chosen charities, The Royal Marsden and Fields in Trust, storm his team, The Halcyon Gallery, to victory.
Inside, Sam was able to capture photographs of guests, artists and their artwork. In between bites and bottomless cocktails, guests were able to meet some of Halcyon Gallery’s represented artists and the day centered around this year’s theme of the rare and extraordinary. For Halcyon, Philanthropy is a big part of their ethos, they stated:
“Our goal is that, through our enduring relationships with a wide range of charitable organisations, art can work as a catalyst to produce a tangible positive effect on youth, education, and the environment.”
