FAQs

Who are Raccoon?

We are the longest running event photography agency in London. We were established by an event photographer who wanted to develop a team of reliable, experience and talented photographers across the city to help her capture events for her clients who ranged from royalty through to the largest brands in the world. Amy knew that she had to find photographers that were both talented creatives but also had an ability to work with any range of clients. Raccoon are now owned by Helen Abraham who bought the company in 2018.

How much notice do I need to give?

We have a full time office open from 9-6pm Monday to Friday and can usually provide a photographer even within a 1 hour window. We also have an out of hours number and our team are in constant communication - so we will always have someone available for your event.

Who are your photographers?

We have a network of nearly 100 photographers based in London and around the world. Every photographer is known to us personally and has worked with us. Many of our photographers have worked with us for many years. All of the team have at least 5 years experience. They are all talented event photographers but many have other expertise such as documentary photography, portrait photography, fashion photography and still life photography. Not only are they fantastic photographers but in order to work with Racoon we need to be sure that they are conscientious, hard working, fun people to have at your event or on your project.

Do I get to choose my photographer?

Yes!  Photographers are not all the same.  We have a consistent quality in our team but each photographer has their own style and energy.  We will send over 2 or 3 available photographers who are most suited and experienced for your type of project leaving you the option to choose based on style and connection. We know all of our photographers intimately - both their photography and also importantly, their personality. We will make a recommendation if we feel one photographer is especially suited to your project and will guide you if you are unsure on who to pick.

Can I see the photographers work beforehand?

Absolutely.  Why would you risk your event, wedding or party photography being captured by someone you haven’t seen, spoken to or seen a selection of their work? We will check availability with the team and send over some portfolios so you can take a look at their recent work and know what to expect from their pictures of your event. See an example here of one of our most booked event photographers, Sara.

Can I speak to the photographer beforehand?

We will handle all of the briefing logistics but we will connect you by phone before the event if you have any special requests or just want to say hello.  For larger projects we set up a WhatsApp group so that all communications are smooth within the team.

How many photos will I get?

It depends on the type of project.  An event will usually give around 70 images per hour, a portrait shoot will usually be c. 10 per person for you to select from.  We can discuss individual requirements with you beforehand so that you know what to expect.

How will I receive my photos?

Raccoon London uses an easy to use online gallery system to share your images with you. From this private gallery, you can share images with with your direct or extended campaign team. From here, you will be able to securely download all content direct to your computer. We also supply printing services via our print partner.

Do you have photographers outside of London?

Yes.  Our main team are based in London and are always willing to travel, however, we have a large international team with photographers and videographers all over Europe as well as the USA, Africa and Asia.  Finding a photographer in a country you don’t live in can be challenging to find consistent style and quality.  Our international teams have all been vetted to ensure they are to the same high standard as our London teams.

What if my photographer is sick?
