Professional lifestyle portraits companies and individuals

It takes just seconds for a person to make a judgment about a person on meeting them - the power of a photograph is just as strong to convey your brand, personality or to a potential client.

We work with both businesses and individuals - clients as diverse as our photographers - and it’s important to us that we connect you with the right photographer for you.  We can shoot at your home, office, on location or work with you to find a suitable venue or space.

We create portraits and headshots that capture you as you want to be seen, even if you hate having your photograph taken our photographers are skilled at putting you at your ease so that you can relax and your personality shine through.  With any luck you will walk away from an experience you have enjoyed even if you and your team were dreading it.

In such a visual time, clients are keen to see the face behind a brand or product.  There has never been a more important time to ensure that your photographs truly reflect you and your company.  Portraits are required for corporate websites, Linked In profiles, social media, company reports and a dozen other digital avenues.

Our photographers are available to come to your home, office or we can work with you to find a public space if you prefer a more lifestyle approach.  We have the option of bringing a mobile studio (if there is not suitable natural light at the chosen location) - either very simple or a more sophisticated set up depending on the number of employees you wish to capture and the style of photography.

We can replicate existing headshots/portraits or work with you to decide on a suitable style that will fit with your brand.

We also offer more formal corporate and headshot photography options - you can see more examples of those here.

What makes a good portrait photograph?

Over and above the technical skills required to take an excellent portrait of a sitter what is often just as important is the ability to put the person at their ease in front of the camera.  Very few people relish having their photograph taken and yet it can still be a fun experience.  Often we will shoot the portraits in small groups so that your colleagues will help to lighten the atmosphere and get some laughter out of the person in front of the camera - if that is what you are looking for.  Obviously for more serious businesses the goal is to ensure a photograph that conveys confidence and authority.

A good portrait photographer will be aware of individual nuances in a sitter to be able to direct you in terms of the most flattering positions, poses and angles and using the light in a way that compliments your face.  They will also respond to you personally - not forcing you to do anything you are uncomfortable doing.  Some sitters are going to be more naturally charismatic in front of the cameras whilst others will be a little shyer and so each engagement is a very personal interaction.

What to wear?  How to prepare?

  • Be on time for your session

  • Speak to the photographer ahead of time so they are clear about the equipment to bring and what style you are looking for - if possible provide mood boards of images you really like.

  • Bring a number of different outfits to ensure that you get a wide variety of pictures to choose from. The photographer will help advise on which outfits work best in the environment.

  • Engage with the photographer - this is a truly collaborative process and the more you put into the shoot the better the images will be.

  • Consider if you want to engage a hair stylist/make up artist for the shoot - we can help make recommendations for you.

Will you photoshop the pictures?

All images will be colour corrected, straightened, cropped and have a basic level of editing to smooth away imperfections and to enhance the overall quality.  More extensive photoshopping is available to correct flyaway hairs, brighten eyes, smooth skin, correct clothing issues etc.  The level of retouching can be discussed when booking.

How many pictures will I get?

During the session the photographer will take an unlimited number of photographs to ensure that all of the moments in between are capture.  Depending on timings and location, this wider selection can be viewed immediately on screen for the sitter to make their selection of favourites images - or a contact sheet can be sent through digitally for the selection to be made more at leisure.  The number of final pictures you receive will depend on the package you have selected.

How long will the session last?

For a lifestyle branding session we would recommend at least a couple of hours with the photographer to capture a number of different locations, setting and perhaps outfits to deliver a range of final images.  For corporate headshots we would typically spend between 10 minutes to half an hour with each sitter depending on the numbers that are needed.

If you would are considering a portrait photography session please get in touch to discuss your brief and budget with us and we will make recommendations on locations and which of our photographers would be the best fit for you and your shoot.
