Shops of the Seven Dials, Soho - Interiors Photography

Raccoon Event Photography frequently works with leading London PR agency Sister London on a variety of event photography and interiors photography for their Soho property clients including Seven Dials.

Seven Dials got it’s name back in the late 18th century because at one stage each of the seven apexes facing the column housed a pub.  Once one of the most notorious slums in London the area is now a bohemian shopping destination in Central London in Soho and is a popular tourist location for the variety of shops, store fronts, exclusive events and restaurants.

Sister London recently commissioned one of our interior photographers Hikaru to capture a variety of locations for the recently launched Seven Dials Magazine. Hikaru photographed the interiors for well-known brands such as Sonos, Away, Diesel, Neal's Yard, Choccywoccydoodah and the Donmar Warehouse.

Hikaru frequently works with Sister London: “I always really enjoy working with the team at Sister as they cover so much ground and have so many interesting things going on - you always get to shoot something different each time. Working with my assistant, we were able to cover 9 distinctively different locations, capturing great still life food and interiors content for print and web."

London Wedding Photography - Surprise Engagement Proposal

Raccoon works with private as well as corporate clients and we are often commissioned to shoot incredibly personal and intimate moments in the lives of our clients to create images that will be treasured for a lifetime. Dan approached us to photograph his surprise wedding proposal to Megan on Primrose Hill in North London at sunrise.

Dan had spent weeks setting up the occasion and it was important for Al to be sensitive in the way in which he covered such a private event.

Al is an experienced documentary and portrait photographer but this was his first proposal, he said: “Last week I got the opportunity to shoot my first surprise engagement on Primrose Hill. I’d been messaging Dan the day leading up to it - organising location, timings and positioning - right up to his wink when he walked past me moments before he proposed. Despite not having met him before, I knew exactly what was about to happen and could tell he was slightly nervous.

Moments before he arrived I told him to land on the centre stone behind the crowds which gave me the framing I needed to get the awesome view in. Luckily he remembered this and executed it perfectly! After a few gasps from pedestrians and a big hug from a very happy couple, I revealed myself and we went for a walk to Regents Park. Fortunately for Dan and Megan, the British weather had held out for them and the deep orangey, red sunset made for some really nice photos.

When the sun went down we all jumped in a cab and headed back to their hotel at the Rosewood - where they wanted a few more photos in the lobby and stairwell. Once we were all done, we had a drink in the bar to celebrate!”

Sweet & Chilli Event Photography in Manchester

On August bank holiday weekend this year specialist drinks agency Sweet & Chilli hosted a brunch at the Slug and Lettuce restaurant in Manchester and commissioned Raccoon Event Photography to capture the event.  Marie-Claire, one of our northern based photographers went along to photograph the party.

Marie Claire said:  “What better way to spend a rainy Manchester bank holiday Sunday morning than having a spot of boozy brunch at the Slug and Lettuce before heading out to enjoy the rest of the last long weekend of the year?!

Tables had been laid out with fresh herb pots – certainly putting my supermarket pots of wilting basil to shame, and along with mouth watering juicy tomatoes and colourful bottles of spicy sauces lit under the pink hue of the retro neon signs, the scene was set and ready for that morning’s cocktail master class.

The guests started to arrive from the damp and grey city centre streets to enjoy their hearty full English breakfasts before what can only be described as a full on creative experiment with a Bloody Mary base and the various herb and spice sauce combinations. As you can see from the photos, their creations weren’t always to their taste but they certainly had lots of fun making them!”
